I have several black marks on my white hull due to the fenders and hitting the sides of the slip.
Does anyone have any advise on what to use to remove them.
Thanks

Compound/polish followed by sealant. Magic Erasers followed by polish followed by sealant.

WD 40

Restoration Technology Marine Strip followed by sealant..

I see you’re not quite sure about the sealant.

I'd be looking at a way to stop the runoff from running down the fenders. I used some drip edges under the rub rail to keep the water from running down the sides.

boatbum, I did the same thing on my vessel. No more water runoff black streaks but he was talking about black streaks as a result of (dirty?) fenders rubbing against the hull. In a matter of minutes; Meguiar's Cleaner Wax would handle the situation in a matter of minutes. This is all I ever used on my vessel for 23 years.

Yeah, some plastic sheet rock j-bead cut to size and rounded off at the ends from home depot stuck up under the rub rail worked wonders.

All of the black marks and black streaks are gone using acetone (sparingly.
Thanks again.

I've recently found after 40+years of boating that Starbrite's Black Streak Remover is great for removing the black streaks coming off my canvas onto the fiberglass-I always thought it was for removing diesel soot. It might be worth a shot to see if it cures your black streak issues.

What caused the black marks does anyone know. I am thinking it has something to do with the metal in the snaps on the canvass. Almost like the black stripes you get on house gutters.

I have navy blue canvas...I always thought it was the bleeding off from the canvas. My previous Carver had black canvas with the same result.
