Yes, in my bilge, it appears that every time I run, I have to consonantly pump out Black-oily-Water from the bilge. I checked the oil level and it seems to be full. So where is the Black-oily-Water coming from?

High gas consumption and mystery water in bilge makes me think perhaps your forward bilge is full of funky water that runs aft when you get underway. Have you checked that possibility?

According to his profile and the other thread, apparently it is a "7.4 454 penta" (i/o) in a '98 28' Doral.

Stuart- Either it is coming from the engine or from another leaking container on-board.

Have you checked all oil hoses( if remote filter), oil filter seals and connections, valve covers , oil cooler, oil fill, oil pan , and dipstick tube by wiping everything with a clean rag or paper towel to find the source of bilge oil?
Maybe a bad crankshaft oil seal?
Does your engine have a plain rustable stamped-steel oil pan or good cast alu type?
Is the flame-arrestor oily?

Dry the bilge and lay down oil absorbent pads to see approximately where the drips may be coming from but they often travel sideways downhill quite a ways.

You should have oil absorbent pads or logs in there now anyway, as of course it is illegal to allow oily overboard discharge if that is the case. They really help until you can find & fix the leak.

It doesn't take much of a leak to look like a lot in the bilge, but if the level really has not gone down at all perhaps it is getting replaced with some water from a leaky oil cooler? If that was the case the level would still vary, either lower, or higher and milk-shaky.

How often do you replace oil & filter , and oil cooler pencil anodes if that is applicable?
How often do you add oil?

Could it be an external (rain) leak to the bilges that is carrying a lot of gunk with it. I am experiencing that problem now. My radar arch is not tight at either the rear hardtop joint, cracked glass that was never fixed while she was on the hard for three years or a GPS antenna that was removed from its stub and the stub was never terminated. I pumped many gallons out of the bilge today while moving my boat to a new marina.

Like Sandy, I was thinking oil cooler/hose/connection if you can't find any other cause. It's one of those things that get overlooked..

if it smells, it could be anerobic or aerobic bacteria forming in the water.

typically black and smelly = anerobic. This forms when there is no oxygen available

clean the bilge and kill the bacteria with bleach.

then find the source

I suggest you start by placing an oil absorbent sheet in the bilge to confirm it's oil. If so, the oil will be absorbed and the water will turn clear. Then it's just a matter of wiping off every connector and cooling line for oil or trans fluid to find the offending connection.
