I replaced my Racor filter and fuel filter yesterday. Racor I filled with fuel but then just changed the fuel filter and bled the system per the owners manual. Even though it is a 2006 I think it may have been the first time the plunger had been used as it seamed like the plunger was painted shut. I had a hard time releasing it. Finally I did get it to popped up so that I could "plunge". Once I got a steady stream of fuel I tried to keep the plunger down but no matter how I turned it, it would not remain down. My question is, should the plunger be down? I haven't started the engine yet because I was worried about a fuel coming out of the plunger in the up position

On mine, the plunger remains in the up position. It's spring loaded.

Mine is spring loaded as well. Thanks for the feedback. I guess I'm OK. Plan to head over tomorrow to fire her up.
