Block Island advise

Im not enough of a people person for the marina thing, we were there for 5 days over the 4th this year . Usually anchor but hustled onto a mooring the 2nd am because T/S arthur was coming, had a blast, as the bartenders at the Oar put it, "Hurricane Parties are the best"

Great you got a spot Dave - I counted 22 boats left by noon yesterday with another 20+ leaving after us and many were 50'+ sport fisherman which frees up a bunch of space. They left early as the fishing was poor due to weather so many did not stay for the 3rd full day finish. On the way out I could see space opening up at the basin and Payne's as well - which were packed the day before.
FWIW - at Champlains I prefer the Western fixed dock as there are 4 levels which I can get on and off the boat so we are AOK at any height.

Note - Payne's has extended the docks out a bit but only maybe 15 or so "regular" boats worth

We are at Greenport now headed back west over the next week or so.
Have a great trip and weather

I still have one more full day which I hope will be a good beach day. Then I will start me trip home.

I got to page 7 on the old thread and could not stop laughing at the banjo song. Made my day.
