Hey Guys I am located in Branford ct. This summer I am looking to make my first trip to block island on my 2001 2655 bayliner. I don't have radar so was looking to see if any other are interested in making this trip as well with their boat I figure safety with numbers. This is just a thought right now and was curious to see if anyone is interested. I figure once their stay at what ever marina you want and then if wanted we can all head back in a group.

ctcruiser-
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I am posting here because I do not have my anchor yet. We were going to get a Honda2000 But are holding off buying anything else for this boat. Its only been with us for a year and we already have another case of 2footitis. We are in the cove almost every weekend. We were also considering the Thimbles as well. Block will be fun. Do you have kids?
Hope your New Year is going well so far.
Brian

Seeing as though July 4 is on a Wednesday we will be there Saturday, June 30 until the following Sunday, July 8. We can check with Block Island commerce to find out what days the fireworks and Parade are being held. We almost enjoy the parade more than the fireworks. We have a 16, 13 and 10 yr old boys. Also a 2 yr old SAR Newfy in-training. Wife and I are in oor 40's and are very active at Block. We scuba dive, speer fish, kayak, knee board, tube, fish, collect beach stuff, people watch (and chuckle) walk the beaches, squid fish at Champlins, play fetch with pooch, dance on the bow of the boat at sunset. We basically rest when we get home.

The BI parade is fantastic, real "old time America".

I would like to join you I have a 1985 34 silverton convertible with radar and gps but old 1985 engines I will be replace ing my risers and elbowes I keep my boat at Pattaconk yacht yacht club in chester on the ct river is any one in my area. i herd that the boat basin is nice they have floating slips so you don't have to raft and i don't have a genorator ot inflatable.

I would be interested in going. I have also never been to Block, but I do have radar and a genset, so that's a start! Let me know when you finalize the dates. BTW, I will be heading from the hudson and through the LI sound.

As for a date, see my comments above on the week of July 4th. For those of you that have never been there the Radar is not critical these days. Sure fog may roll in but there is almost always plenty of warning. We have been going to Block for 10 yrs and never had radar

Gumak,

Where in Clinton are you? We kept a boat in Chester for 14 years (PYC) Then I bought a boat too big for the Club. Then went to Harbor 1 in Saybrook for 2 years and will now be spending my third year at Cedar Island.

I go to the Block as much as possible. 44 miles each way from Clinton to the salt pond. Got GPS, Radar, Sonar, electric toothbrush...

Safety in numbers, let me know when you're going...

Hi Passages ,
We are in Old Harbor Marina .Small place but nice people .We love the location !As far as Block whatever you guys decide .We'll be glad to hook up with somebody who made that trip before .What kind of GPS/Radar do you have ? Any recommendations ? I'm thinking of buying one ( GPS ) soon .
Rich

I was thinking maybe we could go up Friday July 20th. I know the 4th would be great but I figure it may be a little to crowded as some may want to grab a slip. Any way it is an idea for a date what does everyone else think.

Best,
Rob

If I'm in the water I will be interested,,

The 20th will probably be good for us. Maybe I can take a half day at work and head out early afternoon. That all depends on the weather of course.

Robert

That could be along trip from PA. ctcruiser as of now that date sounds good as long as the boat is well. Having some issues with the engine and my extended warrenty never got put into place by the dealer I bought from and hes outa business and it keeps going on and on. The boat is at the dealer now and I should know more latter in the week.
