Well,

After years of fun and five trips to Bimini, our 98 2655 developed a fuel tank leak. Major surgery required to replace,(engine removal, cut bulkhead, possible transom cut due to length of the tank etc.) It looked liked months of aggravation and ultimately dis-satisfaction from where I sit.

She needed all her normal annual stuff as well, so I opted to sell her on the cheap to a buyer of impaired vessels. She will be shipped to Europe, repaired, converted to European voltage and certified to CE standards.

Good fun, especially the Bimini trips with jmas and others. Great time down at NNH a few years back.

Joe, as the RockNRoll is ready to hit the water, if you need a mate to guide you to Elliot Key, I am your guy!

I know I am really getting older, I went to the RV show in Ft. Lauderdale this weekend!

dave, sorry to hear that... 9 years ? damn alum tanks.. why cant' builders use decent material like fiberglass ! alum and salt... geesh...

so you're bailing out and looking at RVs ???

Dave, glad we took some pictures of the BPS while in Bimini. Wont they be surprised to find the boat had a VW engine.
I should be good to go with the Rock & Roll in a week or two. Just need a little cleaning up after the long stay at the dock. You will be the first to know.
I know that you and Peggy,I mean Debbie will have another boat in the near future, its in your blood.
Keep in touch.

Dave, sorry to hear about the boat, but glad to hear that you were able to sell her.

BTW, I know where you can get a really good 26 foot Bimini veteran...

Dave soory to hear about the line for your boat. Is the tank rotting out some thing I need to be concerned about? I have the same model boat.

Mark,

From what I can gather, this is not a common problem in the 94-99 2655's.

But, there is no advance warning, and there is no way to inspect the condition of your tank.

Joe, Peggy sends her best.

Paul, hope you make your Bimini run this summer.
