I am finalizing a deal for a 2001 Larson 330 without any electronics (VHF, GPS/Chartplotter, Radar). Any suggestions for units for this boat. Should I look at a combo unit or individual ones? I think for now I will start with just a VHF & chartplotter. Looking for suggestions. Also, who is listing the best deals these deals? Please help!!!!!

J...... It really depends on what you perfer....they all have pros and cons. What kind of room you have on the helm ????. If space is an issue.....I'd look at combo units. The best thing is to check out a few local Marine stores......get a feel for whats out there....get a price....and check with Boat Fix....for the best prices.

Good Luck..........

Thanks. Based on other boats for sale (Same model), it seems like a lot of people went with the Ray C-80 combo & some went with seperate units. I like the Garmins so I might just stick to that for a GPS/CP with a seperate Furuno radar. What about VHF? Are they all pretty much the same (Icom or Uniden)?

I like the Garmin units also & Furuno radar is one of the best-I think Icom is a better than uniden

The Icom M422 and 502 are both excellent units. For the plotter I would be partial to the northstar or garmin. It all really depends on what functions are most important.

Thank you for the help so far. I like the Garmin for the GPS & heard really good things about the Raymarine. Does Garmin make a package radar only unit because I want to stay away from the whole combo thing?
