boat insurance in Alaska

Insurance carriers are few and far between when keeping a larger boat in AK. At the moment I am considering Inmar and AARP's Hartford - and leaning toward Hartford. The most well known carriers in America do not write policies in Ak or only cover trailer-sized boats. While we are not anticipating making a claim, I would appreciate any comments about the efficiency of claims handling or any other experiences with either of these companies.

dt-have you tried Liverty Mutual, have not made a claim with them, but the rates are very fair. Don't know if they work AK.
 
Just sent a query to Liberty Mutual. We'll soon find out if they write in AK.

Check into Travelers insurance. It's written thru approved agents. Great coverage if it's written in Alaska
 
My cruising insurance covers SE Alaska. You might try Premier. A recent quote from Boat US for my coverage was around 80% higher than my Premier policy.
