A 48-foot yacht caught fire Thursday evening at a Sausalito marina, drawing a response from Southern Marin and Tiburon fire boats and the U.S. Coast Guard.
The two-alarm fire was reported shortly after 5:30 p.m. at Schoonmaker Point Marina at the end of Libertyship Way. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the one boat, an Ocean Alexander yacht called "The Rubicon."

"I think we were probably the first ones who called 911," said Arianna Pilram, who works nearby at eMotion Studios. "We saw smoke, and then the whole thing went up in flames. It was pretty close to other boats and the wind was shifting away. It's pretty miraculous it didn't spread to other boats."

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was under investigation, said Southern Marin fire Battalion Chief Matthew Barnes.

How long has it been up for sale???

At least now the insurance company can "buy" it...

Wouldn't be the first time... [}}:-|>>]

Anyone who loves boats really hates to see a boat --- any boat --- burning or sinking! So sad......
