In the good old days we had a pretty nice culture of previewing boats for each other... I recall doing that a few times for other ROs here (none of those previews resulted in purchase, but they did save the ROs time and money in making a trip for boats that were in worse shape than advertised.). More importantly, I bought my current boat after j-d and shepdog meticulously previewed it for me and did a sea trial back in 2008. I even bought it sight unseen after the thorough report and documentation they sent (plus a survey, of course.). I had also worked with some ROs later on to develop a suggested list of items to look at and photograph.

We are entertaining a bigger boat and wondering if this is still happening? If so, wouldn't it be nice to have a list of where people who are willing to do this are located? Thoughts? I think it would be a great resource. I would be happy to be first on the list and able to preview boats in the Twin Cities area, including the St Croix and Mississippi river and Lake Minnetonka, as well as in the western Lake Superior area (Duluth, Bayfield, etc) during the summer on the way to or back from our boat.

Thoughts?

(PS - At the moment, we are looking at a boat in northern Michigan so if anyone would be willing to take a look, maybe send me a PM)

I'd be happy to help out here in New Hampshire...

North Central Indiana. Will assist if & when possible.

I m sure it will still happen depending on location. I did it for someone here years ago

If you find something of interest in the lower Hudson Valley, lemme know. . .

Houston/Galveston and within reasonable driving distance.
