Have a friend that wants to drop his jetski into the GSB for the weekend somewhere between Lindenhurst and Islip. Needs to be able to leave his car and the trailer overnight.

Does anybody know of a ramp without local residency requirements that they could recommend?

TIA

Jeff

Venetian Shores? Like Tanner, that's a Town of Babylon Park, and he'd need a permit for the car and the trailer.

Heckscher Park - past Islip, but is also state owned like Captree.

gets even better....captree doesnt allow jet skis to use the ramp.

May be better off checking with a couple of small boatyards or marinas. Maybe he could find one that will drop them in for him, and then let him leave the car and trailer for the weekend. It'll probably cost him, but they probably have room for the car and trailer with all the boats being in the water.

The above may be the best bet. Charlie's Bar and Marina on my canal in Lindenhurst has a small ramp. I rarely see it used and don't know what their policy is and if they let anyone outside use it but might be worth a call.

thanks all.

the private marina may give him the best security for an overnight stay anyway.

The AYC use to charge me 50 bucks to drop my jetski in , that was 6 or so years ago and different owners of the commercial unit, you may want to ask them. Also, ask Charlie from C&D marine in Copiague. I can't believe Captree doe not allow jet ski launching, I would love to know the reasoning for that???

scratch charlies bar and marina. I work with Charlie. Its not open to the public.
