In March of 2021 the local boat shop discovered metal shavings in the gear oil. After discussion and thought, the drive was pulled and sent to a place in Michigan that specializes in rebuilding outdrived. Volvo Penta duo prop. In Sept the final gear set arrived from Sweden and outdrive was finished and shipped back in time to get installed and boat shrink-wrapped.

In December I put a 50% deposit down to get a new Bimini top made in April. So I was on their schedule for April. Today I got a call that the shop owner blew out his knee and will need an operation, no climbing in/out of boats.

So now as the other shops are getting busy I need to find a new shop to make my boat a new Bimini top.

You can’t make one of the ‘off the shelf’ biminis work?

While I guess technically it's a Bimini in reality it's a custom fitted top with a clear section that goes to the windshield, side panels and an aft cover. Cockpit all enclosed.

Current top no longer fits, like it shrunk. Zippers ripped or broken. Top is probably original for 2011 boat. When I talked to some canvas shops last fall no one wanted to fix an old top, only make a new top.

Around here we call that a 'camper canvas'...

Well to be accurate, I thought a camper canvas is when the aft cover goes straight back from the top for a bit and then angles down to the deck. Where a regular aft cover angles down to the deck directly from the top.
