We're in Hope Town. Yesterday morning on Cruiser's Net Patty was talking about a Grady White that was stolen from Hope Town Hideaways the previous night. It was found the next day at Hole in the Wall (I suppose a nice joy-ride). We got a mooring the first night and now a slip (needed to do some laundry) at Hope Town Marina. We heard Patty on the phone here talking to the owner of the marina. They're hearing that insurance companies are starting to deny riders for the Bahamas because of the thefts. They're pretty worried about that here. My take on it is that at least Cruiser's Net is making a big enough stink about any boat that's stolen they might make an impact. Now if the Bahamian authorities would get on the issue it might not be an issue.

Too hard to transport Kalik in the little dinghy. We're on rum for now. Although Kalik is cheaper than the water here, that's for sure. We just bought two six-packs of coke and a 35-pack of water for $29. I'm going to have to stop mixing and start drinking straight!

Kurt,
Glad to see that you made the crossing OK. Don't you have a watermaker? Why are you buying bottled water?

Hey Mark,

Yep, we've got the watermaker, but we're in Hope Town harbor. I haven't read the manual for a while, but I'm pretty sure running it in a harbor isn't recommended. What was it you said the other night at dinner about the complete lack pump-outs over here? :-)

Regardless, we're having a great time!

Don't forget Little Harbor, and if you get there look for the glowing squid at night.
