Boatfix search....not work?

Let me preface this by saying the Search function of any site is totally beyond my understanding.

I've had the boatfix catalog for about 5 years now so I know how to find what I need, and if I can't find something...I call Geo.

So, one of the newbies needed a water pump for an alpha. I decided to see if I could find it without looking it up in the catalog, just like any newbie would. I know my way around the alpha drive but didn't want to input a part number. I searched alpha water pump and water pump in both boatfix and boatfixes merc section.

Can anyone else find an alpha water pump?
Does anyone else have problems searching?

I bet boatfix could get more new customers if it was easier for beginners to find what they were looking for.

it also provides serial number ranges to ensure that you get the correct pump. I'm not sure how much easier we can make it.

Chuck, the Boater's world site has absolutely no breakdown for engine parts. A click on Engine parts and systems brings up a list of about 40 pages of stuff. Incidentally, their price on the Sierra pump kit 18-3147 is $110. Our price is $81. However, as mentioned, George is only a phone call away.
