Took a little ride around Copenhagen harbor. Thought you would like to see what other folks are using for pleasure boating around the North and Baltic Seas. A couple of interesting points.
Very expensive. The tax on a new car or boat is around 180% of purchase price!
Lots of diesel outboards. I had a nice little 15hp diesel Yamaha on the back of my rentel. I saw a set of 175 Yammy diesels on the back of a large rib. Even saw a 10hp Yammy that was Kerosene powered.
Lots of American brands, Sea Ray and Maxum both seem to be big sellers. There is one local brand that looks like it is built like a battle ship, I have a picture below.
Lots of nice wood boats very well maintained:
Here is a rental boat like mine, sometimes very sporty!
The Danes idea of a house boat
One of the American brands
One of the local made "battleships"
I tried to get a picture of a "bus boat". Some city bus lines cross the harbor using a boat that you walk onto from the bow. Very cool. I'll try next time.
