Well guys and gals I'm boat-less I sold my Trawler to Kurt, "Mixman". He really helped me out by purchasing it. He plans on doing all the upgrades I had plans to do. I have some good friends with boats at my marina I think my wife and I will be visiting them and spending time on their boats. I eventually plan on getting another boat but financial and medical hardships have caused the sale. These hardships have really changed my lifestyle. But the reality is I'm happy for Kurt and his wife and I'm sure when he's done we will get to see our dream boat again. If I can get some of my medical problems under control I hope to be able to help Kurt with the boat's upgrades.
I will still be on the board and I'll have to change my Avatar.

Bill congratulations to both you and Kurt. I know it's painful to see the boat go but it's going to a really good guy and gal.

You're one of the good guys too and I truly hope you bounce back quickly.

Kurt, can't wait to see you tow that thing to Florida. :)

Glad to hear you're not bailing on us, we need you knowledge and expertise.

Is Kurt getting rid of his boat?
 
I can't speak for Kurt, but I believe he is taking 2 years to do everything possible to the Trawler. During that time he will own both boats.
The trawler can't be towed without permits and you would need a commercial tower and the upper bridge would have to be removed.
The boat went to a great couple and I'll see Kurt at my old office Saturday to hand over a lot of goodies for the boat.

Wow. Well Bill I am happy this works into your plans, and I am sure that Kurt will turn it into a great boat with your help and insight. Here's hoping he brings it South so he can make frozen drinks for us.

Nah, Mike. The Power Cat is splashed and ready for some serious Chesapeake cruising. We're not going to tow to FL this spring as we think with this harsh winter the winds are going to be a bit much to cross to the Bahamas come May. Our plan is both boats for now. Once the trawler is ready we'll put the cat on her trailer and give the 7-8 knot lifestyle a try. With luck my wife will be "early-out" in 2 years and I'll be running my business from the trawler for months at a time.

On a side-note, I just stopped by to check on John's Trojan as it's only a couple miles from where I keep my boat. All is well.

Yup, Bill, we'll be there on Saturday to see what we can fit in my truck. You're right on the plan as we'll be two boat owners for a few years. I plan to upgrade the trawler to what I'd want as an extended cruising vessel. We'll give her a try once all the work is finished. We will not get rid of our power cat any time soon. Too many trips, too good of a boat. We know she'll get us to the Bahamas and back as she's done it before. But we will need more room as we get older and spend more time on a boat. I'll e-mail you directly tomorrow (Friday) afternoon to firm up a time on Saturday.

I am sad and happy for you at the same time. I am glad that things are working out the way you need them to right now, but hope that in the near future, you will be able to get the boat itch again.
 
Wow! Didn't see this coming. Congratulations to both of you. Billy, take life easy now and get it all back together, health wise and financially. Kurt, I expect to see the trawler in our water in the near future. It can't go fast enough to have those neighbors on the hill yell at you! ;)
