BoatUS?

I run a business from my home I have a ton of mail to deal with and read I leave the home and boat bills to my wife I wouldn't have a clue what can in other then what she tells me so I going on what she said. Is it possible that she missed it sure but not likely. I can't even tell you if it was more or less I have no clue however I would be double checking the coverage if it went down!
As I have said before I have been very happy with Geico for many years but they had quoted me much higher years ago when I price shop for my boat.

I dumped Geico after 15 years, got a new company that is half their price (Auto) . Progressive was more than Travelers for the boat and less coverage. Progressive was also more for the homeowners than Travelers, and again less coverage. I did use progressive for one of six vehicles I have, very complicated what I do and why. I look and access all insurances every three years, business and personal. This year, I saved over 10k with changes.

I too have six vehicles and between business boat and home I don't spend 10K to save. The total may be close but it would all have to be free to save that much.

The 10k included business insurance change (non vehicle)

You need to find cheaper business insurance:)
All in I'm not sure I'm at 10K business boat car home umbrella maybe about that number but I certainly couldn't same that much or all my insurance would be free! I would be good with this but I don't think Geico would be.

"The 10k included business insurance change (non vehicle)"

Similar to boat insurance policies the variables involved in business insurance and even car/truck insurance can affect the costs greatly.
FWIW- I know we could cut our business policy costs almost in half but then we would not have the coverage we wanted.
Comparing costs alone will just confuse and frustrate the best of us.

Be careful about comparing boat policies - there is NO standard! Is "Stated Amiunt" the same as "Agreed Amount"? You'll find-out in the event of a major claim. Pay attention to "Navigational Limits" also. If your policy stipulates coverage limited to "Inland Lakes and Waterways" don't skip the ICW in NJ to save time running offshore!

Bottom line; they got you by the short hairs! They can't lose! If they have to pay out, just raise ur rates. Almost as bad as politicians or lawyers.

I also go through USAA for boat insurance. My last boat was 35' which was the largest Progressive would insure in Florida. Now that I am getting a larger boat USAA sent me to Markel, which I have had before. Just to keep everyone honest I also had a Florida Insurance Agency provide quotes from other companies such as ACE and others.

The one company he absolutely would not quote was Geico because, he said, they had more loopholes than swiss cheese to find a reason not to pay you. The example he used was that say you had a mechanic do some work on your boat and he gets a phone call in the middle of your job and leaves a hose clamp loose and your boat sinks in the middle of the night. You did not double check his work because you trusted him or were out of town. They won't pay this type of claim, he said.
