The admiral just asked me why her 2003 BW 13 Sport has a thru hull sump/drain under the operators seating as well as the normal transom drain? Damned if I could tell her, I ‘ve just ignored it being there. Anyone know??
More info/comment: My first BW was a 1970 13 and it only had the transom plug which you could pull when docked and just a small amount of water would come in. Nice deal since it had no bilge pump and just self bailed. I have always assumed the Admirals would do the same. Could this forward drain be for self bailing? I’ve never bother to try either in this Whaler.
Also my 1986 BW Montaik 17 was also self bailing while docked with only a transom plug.
