Micon bottom paint. Can it be applied below 50 degree's and how long does it take to dry if applied below 50. I cant go into detail as there apparently is a RAT on here that will be extinguished..... SOON !

Thanx

Ok so I got info about the bottom paint. No application below 50 degrees.

and Remove loose paint by sanding with 80 grade (grit) paper. Remove sanding residue.

FWIW - the air temps are what most people think about when looking at that information. I have seen problems where the air reaches the bare minimum 50 degrees but either the paint or the boat hull itself is still well below 50 sitting in the shade - and it only will get worse after application and the sun goes down.
If there is a good or bad way to have a problem this is not one of the 'good' ones to have since it is easily avoidable.

Good luck with the yard and the rat - hope this helps

Not much will grow now.
Why not launch, then powerwash and paint sometime in May/June?
Short Haul will be cheaper than trying to fix a bad paint job IMO.

Smitty brings up a great point. Also morning dew on the boat ....

I saw some guys painting after it rained .... So cold boat and wet ....

UGH !!!

Dave that is an option that was spoken about to meet my splash date .

Rob

You can tent off the boat with a blue tarp and put a heater in there?
A big blue tarp is cheaper then a short haul.

Please do not 'tent' a boat and add a whole bunch of heat while painting with Micron CSC or the equivalent without approved positive breathing air equipment (not just filters). You could easily end up severely injured or dead from the Xylenes that are quickly 'baking' off of the paint.

Stay safe so you can boat
Hope this helps

What a great ides to haul and paint in mid season right before a trip. If you use a diver you might even find that new paint is not necessary.

You are not doing a 44' yourself are you?? There are some jobs I leave to the yard. In mid season you might get a better price.

Bruce the yard is going to paint. The way the weather is and my Rush to get away from the chaos in the marina i think it may be best to not bottom paint now and do it correctly at a later date .

That is what I do now.

End of May, mid week haul out.

In the event...say, you do tent your boat and say, you heat it up to say, toxic fume emitting temp in order to bottom paint effectively and say you know...kinda die......Can I have your boat. Just sayin'!!!! <BFG>:D

what is your hurry to launch a boat you will not use in this crappy weather?

Good god, give the guy a break. He's got some time to do it now.

Walt,
50 Saturday .... I got seals to watch. People to get away from ......
