The OP asked for a bottom painter, not a bottom feeder. How do you know his time and or physical limitations?
Using your logic, I guess Tiger Woods should paint the bottom of his Christensen 155?

As for Jim P, that was a very rude comment. I own a boat and don't paint my own bottom or wax my own boat. Why? Well let's see I am 55 years old and when I do anything like that my back hurts me for 3 days to a point I can barely move. So are you saying I should sell my boat and never enjoy life? I don't cut my own lawn, maybe I should sell my house. I don't work on my cars, maybe I should sell my cars too.
My view is the opposite. If you can afford a boat, then you can afford to higher someone else to do all the work for you!!!

Marinas I've used don't allow anyone other than their crews to paint boat bottoms, even though state and federal regulations allow it, if certain rules and safety requirements are followed. Actually, with my back the way it is, I wouldn't do my own painting even if I were permitted to do so by the marina. With the cost of bottom paint being as high as it is, I don't know how much anyone really saves by doing it himself. That said, I'm sorry, but I can't recommend anyone for you. Hy

I have to agree with you. There was a time that I did things like crawling under my car and doing my own oil changes. Now at 60, I have my mechanic do that for me, and my boat is maintained by my marina. Most of my home maintenance is done by a handyman/contractor with whom I have a good relationship . However, I do cut my own lawn with a manual push mower, but that's for another thread I guess. [:-captain]

BTW: i usually do my bottom paining myself as well as the majority of my maintenance on the boat, and at 60 years old next month I do everything around the house and on the family fleet of vehicles, including pulling a motor out and putting it back in to my collector car a few months back.
Unfortunately because of some recent health problems and the late start because of the crummy weather I find myself up against it this year as far as time is concerned and it's worth the few bucks to pay someone to do it this year.

I found Ben a while back, good guy and does a great job. I would never paint the bottom of my boat myself, at least at what Ben charges. When I paint, I get more of the paint on myself than the boat 
We all know this paint aint cheap

All you do is give Ben the paint, he supplies the brushes, rollers, etc. With that said, my boat is 45', hence 135.00 to Ben. If I did it myself, it would probably cost me $40.00 and months to get the paint off of me

JVM: I agree; no explanantions necessary. As the commercial says, "You've reached an age when....". I'm there also. I've always done everything for the house, the cars, the boat, the family, and the friends. Now I find I have to hire people to do some of the work. It's a new experience; but I thank God that I am in a position that I can afford to have someone take some of the work off me; not all of it, but some. Two month ago, for the first time in my life, I paid a repair shop to do a brake job on my wife's car. I grew up repairing cars and can do a brake job with my eyes closed; but I was scheduled to have epidural injections for pain in my lower back that week and my wife's car's brakes were shot. I bit the bullet and wrote a check. Such is life. Enjoy your boat and do for yourself whatever you feel you can do, paying someone to do the things you can't.

I hope that I remember this next year and just to be sure, I'll ask you folks to remind me, but after painting this year, and mind you, it was only the butt, running gear, side walls and the bow about 8 feet in, I swore that I will never paint the bottom again. I have also reached the age!
Thanks to everyone for the recommendation. Ben returned my call this morning. Sounds like a really nice guy. Going to try to get to me this weekend. I'm going to have him do two boats for me.
My initial thought was to just have him do it this year, but after talking to him, if it works out I might get spoiled and call him again next year too.
It usually only takes me a couple of hours to get them both done once I suit up and get all the stuff out, but that's extra time I just don't have for the next few weeks.
I got both boats uncovered, cleaned, polished with the buffer, and covered with one coat of wax by hand this past week. Any free time I do get before I go in I want to use for another coat of wax by hand and some other odds and ends I want to take care of on them.
