Just a word of caution on Bowline. 2 boats this week hit a rock or bottom on the entrance to the cove. They stayed to the left like always. Both of these boats were small (less than 23 ft) and mid to high tide.

It looks like something shifted down there.

Just a warning to save a prop or two.

I wonder if something washed down the river and got stuck there? Could be a log, tree, etc..

We're going to have to check this out.

Thanks for the info.

Hogan,
I will follow you in this weekend. No need for me to be first.[:-angel]

Maybe we should send a diver in to check it out.

I kinda figured we'd get Bobby to go in first!

That is really gonna suck if there is something permanent there.

Looks like we're gonna have to scope it out with dinks at low tide. High tide Saturday is 7:00 AM, Low on Saturday is 2:00 PM.

I'll be away this weekend so I'm hoping you 2 get this sorted before we get back!

TIA!!!

John, since you have already been in there this season, in the interest of helping your fellow boaters, you should cancel your trip to Rondout and take us in exactly the way you and Jonathan went.

Never did like Bowline very much. Sorta like putting your boat in a bathtub. Would just as soon hang in my slip on a rough day than anchor in Bowline. And I did have the very slightest encounter with the brickpile in the middle with my previous boat.

Why doesn't the town dredge out the high spots? They could throw a restaurant and bar down there!

I have 2 waypoints I can send you for the start and end point of the way I go in. Been using the same points for several years. I actually don't look where I'm going and just follow the chart plotter!

(Just kidding about the don't look thing, I glance up now and then ;))

Hogan,
Great idea to use our dinks.

Bad idea because we have to get our boats in their first before we use our dinks.

Hmm. Is there any one else who can go in first?!?!?! What about Pappa Bouchie!

May be you can run over there with your jet boat and scope it out first...

Bob, when are you putting your speedboat in?

The shanty town right at the entrance to Bowline is getting quite large these days. maybe they are the ones who are dumping debris in the water????

Jonathan

Could it be they are tired of the boats disturbing their fishing?

Mike,
I was planning to work on it the week after Memorial day. I am working on getting my new carpet done before the weekend. I thought about bring it up but do not want to rush it.

We're gonna need it for parasailing this summer.

I think some guys went over on a dingy and said there was something there. I'll dink over maybe this weekend. Anyone for Dingy races? 5hp max though.

Mike;

It would be great to see you in a parasail being pulled by a speed-boat above the poker run on Father's Day week-end.
