OK, I've heared that this could be done in water without sinking your boat. I don't have a petcock to shut off the inlet flow so I'm wondering if anyone has tried this and any advice they might give (i.e., how would plug the hose? would it be sufficient just to tie the hose up so the opening was above the waterline? would there be too much water pressure to put the hose back on the pump?)
