Does anyone have a line on a good company that makes replica stripes to match the original striping?

Thanks
Ken

Check out auto paint supply, where body shops buy. Check out there catalog. You should be able to find what you need. When applying new stripe use lots of use lots of windex first to float stripe into position. Once satisfied use credit card or plastic scraper to go over tape, this pushes out the windex and lets adhesive from tape stick. We are going to be inyour neck of the woods starting July 19th do you have time to hook up?

Thanks DC,

I have checked with a few local companies, but I have not heard anything back.
The biggest part I am concerned with is the transition from front to sides. The stripe on the front is actually larger than the strip on the sides. As it transitions from side to front it gets larger....

I have never done this before, but seems like it will be a VERY interesting task. Thanks for the tip regarding the windex.

Yes we should be in Harbor a good portion of July. If I do not get this done I will be sure to let you know.

Thanks

^^ I think that is the exact reason I see the majority of these boats with the stripe removed.

I hear ya 370.

But now it needs replacing, and when I remove it it will be so noticeable, I need to restripe!

I think you are going to have to end up buying 2 different sizes of stripes and create a seam just past the edge on the side of the bridge. Obviously the smaller tape on the sides.

Remove old stripe large and small. Rub out, Buy one size strip. Sightly smaller then larger section. Apply, Wax. Sun will fade accordinly.

Remove old stripe. WET SAND first. Then rub out. Then instead of vinyl, you could consider a urethane paint. Give it a month to harden up & then wet sand to 2000 grit & buff. It will gleam & hold up like vinyl never could.

Any local sign shop with a digital printer and a laminator can print what ever color you want. If you tell them you are in no rush, they can print it along side other work and save a couple of bucks. Make sure they laminate it.

I have a roll of the side and front stripe. Send me your info and I will send you a sample of both of these so you can take them to the body shop supply to match. This is what I am going to do I tried to use the rolls I have but they have been rolled up so long I think it would be easier to get new.

I am considering just replacing the front strip as the sides are fine. I was just concerned I could not find a matching stripe to meet the sides to the front. If you have a matching piece big enough to do the front of the bridge I would be happy to purchase it from you.

Thanks
Ken

I have the same stripes on my Mariner 32. Look in the 2011 West Marine catalog, page 304, left side of page. I think this is what you are looking for

Call Carver and see if they have any in stock, if not they can tell you who the supplier was for your boat. Need to give them your hull #.

There is a place just south of Milwaukee, WI called Kendor Marine (google for the website). They buy up old discontinued marine/boat stock piles from various manufacturers. Anyhow, they have a row full of vinyl striping, lettering, etc. Give them a buzz with your make, model, year, etc. and they can tell you what they have. Awesome place to find those strange pieces you can never find anywhere.

July 18th & 19th at The Old Club, July 20th at St. Clair, July 21st & 22nd at Wallaceburg. Can you make any of these dates?
