Buff Magic and Pro polish seem to be popular choices for gelcoats. The top side of my boat has many areas where the fiberglass/gelcoat finish has non-skid surface (the small bumps as part of the finish).

Will these products work well on those surfaces as well? Can you still use an orbital machine on these areas?

I just did it - worked great. Used a PC orbital with yellow foam pad on the textured surfaces for the Buff Magic and followed with a terry rag for cleanup. For the Pro Polish I used a white foam pad and a microfiber towel for finish. The "orange peel" non-skid looks like new, and Pro Polish under foot with a siped sole deck shoe is not slippery, at least not under my feet.
