Hearing as high as $5.00 a gallon on the street for GAS. What do you think it will be on the water? That is going to put a definite dent into the boaters pockets. And with Ethonal going to 15%, what will that do to the engines?

I own diesels and have to seriously consider #2 oil as an alternative.

How is this going to effect the boater's and even the marina's?

All I can say is start saving your change and break open the piggy bank in the summer.

Transient slips will be easier to get, marinas and waters will be less crowded.

As for us, we'll still be on the boat every weekend, out as many days as the weather permits, running two boats, and heading to Newport for our two week trip.

I don't care.......we have plans to travel this summer ( in our Diesel motorhome ).....from June thru September. I'm sure it will cost alot...........but life is short !

Don, I was watching a show on RV's yesterday, gotta convince the wife that it's the way to go...

Mike ....I think I seen it also..........on the travel channel....called RV 2011 ? They showed some $600K coaches........... :)

If you have older diesels you will find that they may like #2 better ;-)

As long as my work allows us to use the boat, we will leave the dock as often as possible. May not spend many weekends on the hook, because it looks like it will be cheaper to get a slip somewhere than run the GenSet all weekend.

Most likely plan trips better and/or move the boat out east for a month or two to save running time/fuel to get to MV/Newport etc.
