Hello I am buying a 1986 searay weekender 300,visual survey came back positive boat looks clean to me.I have the sea trial and engine check next up,anyone out there had any experience with this model good or bad. Thanks for any input

I owned this model for about 7 years. Bought it new. A very nice boat. Like all SRs of this area it is prone to extensive stringer and transom rot. Make sure you get a good survey.

I am the proud owner of a 1987 300 Weekender. Best boat I have ever owned. Have had it 10 years and have had on problems with it at all. Still very desirable boat around the Great Lakes.

The Weekender line is the favorite of many here. And the 30 seems to be the best of the best. Still very common and popular 20 years later. There must be a reason for that.

You should get a full survey - not just an engine check. They will find "things" possibly including wet stringers and transom. It's all a matter of degree. Gas tank check is another, more critical survey item.

Thanks for all the comments,I have had a full survey, moisture check was good surveyor said this model has aluminum gas tanks and these are raised off the bottom.
