Apparently the new state budget killed the saltwater license in favor of a free online registry.

The Newsday article says the state must refund the 150 dollars back to whoever bought the license.

Sheeeeit! If Caleeefornia had a $10 saltwater license, I'd be happy to buy one. Ya used ta be able to buy a saltwater for about $17 but they since combined salt and fresh water license and jacked the price to about $50.

Ca Dept of Fish & Game has the stoopedst people running it, and always had. They were responsible for the decimation of the Sardines as a species and more recently allowed the Halibut to be fished out and all but sent the Nations largest Herring fishery non-existent and presently are allowing the Dungeness crabs to be fished out.

Now they're trying to implement 'sanctuaries' in key fishing grounds. They don't understand that 99% of the Oceans don't have fish.
