I'm buying a Chaparral 18'3" 180 SSE runabout, and I'm wondering if it's ok to pull with my 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport. The specs say the boat has a weight of 2,100 lbs, but I'm not certain what the weight with the trailer might be.
My Jeep has a 3,500 lb hitch on it and I've used it to pull my smaller bass boat with no problem. The Jeep is an automatic with a 4.0 L engine. I have a new 2005 Grand Cherokee with a V8, but I'd like to keep it clean for a few more years and use the older Jeep to pull the boat.
Any advice is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.
