I have alot of lead billets. Anyone molding your own sinkers? (FREE)

Joe,

I wish you were closer. I suspect the shipping would cost more than the lead. If you ask around, I;m sure you'll find someone who wants it. Around here lead is selling for $0.50 to $0.70 a pound.

Someone will want it. You might ask the dive shops. They use weights too.

Maybe I could make some Down-Rigger weights.
Is lead used to anchor Lobster traps?
Must be other uses other than sinkers.

Generally, bricks are used in lobster pots, at least in the NE.
If that lead was a lot closer I'd pick it up to melt & pour into SS tubing for excellent cod jigs.
Plumbers who still have occasion to install quiet heavy cast iron waste piping may have a good use for the lead.
Sailboat keel ballast or correction ballast for powerboats with a beam tilt?
Right foot lead Crocs for race car drivers?

I have molds and make my own sinkers, but probably not worth shipping to NY.

JohnC, Where on the Island??

Shooters use lead too. Shotgunners, Cast lead Hard Ball shooters and Muzzle stuffers.
