Canvas shop

I too used AMC based on the recommendations here. Couldn't be happier with the quality of the work or the price.

Following up. Tony from AMC is looking at my boat this weekend. He gave me a price much lower than I expected, and said the job can be complete in one week. It that proves true I'll be very excited!

It's true. Last summer he completely redesigned my bimini and camper canvas. New frames (went from stainless to aluminum), hardware, 2-piece bimini, all new camper canvas and new mooring cover. Done in less than a week and MUCH less than I expected to pay when I first went 'shopping'. They did a nice job, and Tony's redesign works a lot better than what came out of the factory.

So the results are in. Tony started the install on Sunday, and finished on Thursday. I'm very happy with both the work and the speed. The weather was not great that week, so he even came back to get the sections that needed repair so the boat would not be open for a few days.

One special request I had was to make blackout curtains for the entire camper top, the existing canvas, and the inside glass windows. The front windows have a big curve and it posed a challenge so as to block light without blocking the companionway. He did it, and it looks fantastic. The blackout curtains attach to the canvas via Velcro and the window frame via snaps. He even replaced all the old snaps with new for the new camper back.

Here are some photos.

Looking forward with blackout shades attached. That bottom one is a single piece that wraps all the way around the glass.

I probably will end up replacing my glass at the end of this year. It's a shame that I had AMC replace with the hard stuff on the old boat last year and it all got ruined in Sandy. New boat the glass is okay but not up to my standards, so will use this season for now.

New boat also has a full cockpit enclosure which is nice but it's alot of canvas to keep clean!
Ugh! I really hate canvas! Wish there was a button you push and like a convertible car it pops up!
