Cape May or Wildwood

Making some plans for an early August trip.

We're going to Atlantic City on the return, but want an opinion on where to stay down in the Cape May area.

Right now, we are thinking Canyon Club in Cape May or Schooner Island in Wildwood.

Thoughts?

i stopped at Canyon last month, big modern impersonal $3 a foot marina... they have a pool though if you 're looking for a resort like deal.

Utsch is good, although a little narrow and shallow on the approach for a larger boat.

I like Miss Chriss... small and rugged but friendly owner and the often has the best priced fuel (0.40 less than Canyon last month...)

Bring a bike to Schooner's. It's a very long walk to the boardwalk. Restaurants are close to marina.

So basically they are both too far from the beach/boardwalk to walk.

We are looking for a destination for a few days. Our plan is to go there first and hit AC on the way home. We don't like single night marina stays. Since we're on vacation, we like to stay a few days to relax without having to pack up right away to move the next day.

I originally thought Schooner for the boardwalk. Given that, what would be the recommended place to relax for a few days?

I have stayed at both. If you have children, I would go to Schooner Island. We did walk to the board walk, it was about a 20 minute walk, or you can take a jittney bus right outside the marina. They have a pool, BBQ area, dog walking area and three resturants within 5 minute walk. Steve

We are planning a trip from the Chesapeake bay to Long Island, starting July 18th On the way up we are staying at Trump Marina in AC and on the return we are going to Schooner Island. It looked like it had more to do than Cape May. I wanted something where the beach was a little closer, and more to do at night. Schooner seemed to have that. We wont be there until the 27th of July and staying 2 nights maybe 3.
