Cape May Trip Recommendations

Am planning on a 9 day vacation from the Middle River on the Chesapeake Bay to Cape May. Would welcome any thoughts on places to go, marinas to stay at, restaurants and dock bars to frequent as well as any one day trips to things we should see or do by water.
