Before I began my boating career (about 6 years ago), I took the Power Squadron intro course. That's the extent of my formal boating training. Every once in a while, I get a vague desire to extend my knowlege through some further training or licensing. Could someone please shed some light on what my options are? I know that the Power Squadron and Coast Guard have various courses, but I'm wondering about getting some kind of license. I know there's something called a "Six Pack", but don't really know what it is.
Is this something people recommend for a recreational boater? Or, is it too much work for too little benefit...?
