Just had both carburetors overhauled last week. Rochester 4 bbl. Twin 454's, inboards, 31' Formula PC. Starboard runs great. Port smokes(bluish color), rough idling, black soot comes out the exhaust at start up, gas sheen coming out the exhaust. Please help diagnosing the problem, so when I call the mechanic, I have some ideas. Mechanic actually saw this, and suggested that I take the boat out, run at WOT for a few minutes, and see if the problem goes away. He also said that both carburetors need to be replaced, because they're both shot. What do you folks think? Thanks a lot.
