carpet replacement

I have a 1987 2757 montego and would like to put carpet on the rear deck and around the helm. there was none when i purchased it but the snaps are in place for it an suggestion on types of carpet to use

mine is original to the boat...also a 1988 Montego. Still in good shape and has none of that now popular foam on the back...just regular carpet backing.

Home Depot sells indoor / outdoor carpet in attractive colors and patterns. I bought a pair of sharp carpet scissors and cut my own in. Layed down so well in the bridge area I did not even have to apply carpet tape. Secret - take your time - be patient - sharp shears. I suppose once you get the pattern cut you could have someone dress the edges and throw in some snaps.

Mine is high quality commercial grade indoor carpet. I've had it for over 5 years now.......

You can try this place. http://www.matworks.com/cockpit.htm They have a kit where you can make a pattern, send it to them, and they will make a finished carpet for you.

I was looking at flooring for boat interior at www.greatlakesskipper.com. They sell a lot on ebay. I bought a bimini top, some lighting and gauges over past few years. Check their ebay auctions first, sometimes better buys.
