carver 44 sojurn

I saw those yesterday Jim...I also saw actual pictures my boss took while he was up at Carver a week or so ago. They were putting it in their test tank (they test every boat for about 1/2 a day). As good as it looks in those drawings, they can't compare to the real thing. The one I saw pics of had the half painted hull in the dark blue.

Hopefully you will have one of them at the ix boat show....only way I will ever get on one! What a great looking vessel.

I got this in an email from a Carver dealer today:

Be the first to see Carver Yacht's new 44 Sojourn, a unique type of yacht for people who enjoy sharing their time on the water with family and friends. The all new Carver 44 Sojourn will be christened in the Midwest during the national Michigan City Boat Show before visiting other shows later in the fall.

Made with superior construction quality, the new Carver 44 combines the attributes of the Volvo IPS joystick control drive system, excellent efficiency and superb close quarter maneuverability along with the spacious design of the exterior and interior layout. Being the most spacious bridge of any other boat this size with seating for 12 people, the 44 Sojourn allows for a refrigerator, grill and a helm with an array of full high-tech instruments under the bridge's hardtop.

Other features include sleeping accommodation for six, two staterooms, single level interior floor plan, contemporary wood interior, numerous salon level hull windows, fully furnished galley, dinette that converts to a double berth and an impressive entertainment system with standard Apple iPod Dock in Salon and Sirius sattellite radio.

They only had one small computer generated graphic - and I guess I should reserve judgement for until I see better photos, but that arch/hardtop seems to be on backwards to me.

The hardtop support arch leans forward...not sure I'd even get the hardtop, but it sounds like it might be standard.

Kinda looks like an updated version of the older Mariner series. I like the single level and galley up. Pretty, pretty boat.

totally looks like an updated mariner- i like it. great layout.

We got our press kit today...with real pics of it in the water and running...real shots of the interior also. They've used 2 different woods on the interior...looks real sharp!

And why have you not posted said press kit for the masses? Enquiring registered offenders want to know.

I would if I could pry it out of my bosses hands. I guess they will be showing it at the Michigan City In Water Boat Show. Unfortunately, we could not get it (one) for our Cedar Point In Water Boat Show, but we will have it at the January Cleveland show. They've only gotten hull #1 built so far. 30,000 LBS, twin IPS gas or diesel, and a gas inboard option (I'd go with the diesel IPS')

If anyone would like some pics...shoot me an e-mail and I can send some. ramsport47 at yahoo.com

Ken,

I would like to see them if you're sharing. Lego Chef At A O L dot Com.
