Carver Mariner- possible leak??

We have a 1985 mariner 36. On several trips we have noticed water intrusion onto the carpet of the front stateroom. It only happens after relatively long trips, never when at the dock.

It is always in the same spot, in front of the closet and on the first step by the starboard side of the bed. The carpet gets quite wet in only these spots.

There is no evidence that it is dripping from above, or getting in either front hatch. the ceiling is always dry, as is the bed and the shelf under the hatch.

There is a vent under the front closet which I have suspected may be the source of the water, but I don't know where this vent leads, or if there could be anohter source.

Do you have an Air Conditioner under the v-berth, and maybe the drain pan isn't draining, and could be spilling while underway?
 
isn't there a forward water tank under your forward berth? Perhaps it is that? Boatered member Ted36M used to own a 1984 36 Mariner...maybe he will stop in with some better ideas? The A/C as Shel suggested could be the culprit as well.

The foward AC has been removed on my Mariner, and there is no foward water tank on my boat.

Hopefully some mariner owners will stop by and chime in.
 
I have a 85 36.. The holding tank is under the berth also there are at least one through hull on the star size just above water line. This was used for the drain of the ac unit. Its possible this hasnt been properly secured and water maybe shoots out the left over hose etc.. ? I would take the drawer assembly out from beneath the birth and get underway and have a look whats going on in there..

On the other hand it is not likely that water is comening from below as the entire room in molded glass. none the less take out the drawers and see.. Does the bilge get wet as well ?
 
Thank you for the tip about the thru hull. I'll be going up to the boat for the weekend, and will check it out.

As for the bilge, there is a minimal amount of water in it. (1/4")
