Recently, I saw that someone referenced the use of channel 68 as a navigation aid. I was not aware of this and would appreciate some feedback. Is it monitored regularly and a good source of inlet conditions, etc.??? Drop a note if you care to share. Thanks!

Holy Grail,
NONCOMMERCIAL - Working channels (9, 68, 69, 71, 72, 78,79, 80, 67)for voluntary boats. Messages must be about the needs of the ship. Typical uses include fishing reports, rendezvous, scheduling repairs and berthing information. Use Channels 67 and 72 only for ship-to-ship messages.
Hope this helps...

68 could be considered a navigation aid…. To the best fishing holes, beer joints, dock spots, restaurants on the water etc, oh yes and last but not least…… the best sights of topless bathing on bows. ;)

68 is what the majority of local sportfisherman use so it's a good channel to call for inlet conditions, etc. During the weekend the traffic will be so high you'll probably turn it off after a while!

Thanks for all the great info. I knew I could count on you guys.
