Hello All
Looks like I am getting cold feet,I am to close on a new never sold 03 Chaparral 240 with a 5.0 MPI with a bravo 2 outdrive in a few days.
In doing a lot of reading I am seeing alot of negitive feedback reguarding Mercury.I was afraid of the Volvo Duo prop drive because the chain o lakes system I boat in has some shallow areas and is very hard on props and outdrives if you are not careful.
I am confident in the Chaparral name as being a good quality boat,and I feel the price is fair,43,800 plus tax,incl 2 axle trailer with brakes and a few other options,no freight or set up fees,and I will get the full factory warrenty plus the 2 year warrenty on the merc drive train.
I have looked at all the Chaps for sale on Boatprice Checker and could not find one with the 5.0MPI and Bravo 2 drive,lots of 5.0MPI with either The Volvo Duo prop or bravo 3 drives.
I am looking for anyone out there whos has a similar size and weight boat,5400 lbs running the 5.0MPI Bravo 2 drive,as to if this is sufficient to give overall desent performance and realibility.
Also as to reasons this boat has sat around I believe is because it only has the 5.0,no a/c or heat system,and no stove.
