This is incredible. Charles makes excellent products. Either they can no longer compete with Chinese crap or they will transfer their line to some foreign based subsidiary

What Pascal said. Friend had a Charles Charger and the thing was a work of art.

At least they included this in that release:

"Charles’ Service Center will continue to support customers and products under their stated warranty terms."

The way I read the PR they will still make isolation transformers.

This kinda sucks. I had one of their chargers go south on my last year, replaced it, but the space in the engine room was designed around that specific shape of the Charles 60amp charger. I have 2 in the ER.

I wonder if I should pick one up as a spare before they are done.

Perhaps you could buy their whole discarded marine charger division for the cost of the spare? You could name it Robyn's Industries!

Sorry to hear of this business decision by a well-respected marine supplier.

I had great service from them on a couple of their products and enjoyed chatting about product with Joe Charles at shows. My fondest memory was watching Mrs. C. swiping spiders on the side of their Burger "Chateau Thierry" in Racine, WI. The score was something like Mrs. B. 4 Spiders 0. Great company; great people.
