When my electronics was stolen a couple of years ago, the officer taking my information said they had their eye some installers that worked for a local marine electronics store.

I recently upgraded my Northstar 952's to the Northstar 6100i.
I still have one of the color Northstar 952 XD It's hooked up & working on my lower (indoor)helm station. Unit is like new $500.00 takes it & you can see it work before you buy -Fair?. We can remove it together.It's in Staten Island you can Email me aso8**aol.com

To curtail theft, I would recommend using handheld models, you can take the unit with you when you leave the boat. I have had a Garmin 76CS for the past two years and it works great. I can take it with me, use it in the car, or play with it while at home.

I posted this when it happened ... They ate on the boat ... left all the candy and soda cans and wrappers behind... They marina got it on video .... but the nassau crack detectives never came by for the tape . a few weeks later the owner of the boat reported that there stuff was returned and an arrest of a dealer employee.... apparently the not so bright thief made it a point to return to most of the customers he serivced ... so the pattern is what led to his arrest. Also some e bay guy was arrested with him.... they were selling the stuff on ebay... so there was some kinda record for most of the stuff that wasnt recovered as to where it went...
so some things have good ending ...
