We took our boat out yesterday and while underway and pushing the throttles forward the check engine light (and audible alarm) starting sounding off for the starboard side engine. I backed off the throttles and the light/alarm stopped. I tried it again, same thing (it seemed to happen at just over 2,000 rpm .. not even on plane yet). The temp and oil gages looked completely normal (same as the port side engines and same readings that I've always seen since we've owned the boat).
I waited a few minutes more, tried it again and no more light/alarm sounding. We then went into a nearby marina (back at idle speed), turned around, throttled up again and never saw the check engine/alarm go off again, all the way back home.
Has anyone else experienced this (with a light/alarm going off, then seemingly going away)? Any idea as to what may have caused the alarm to sound those two times. We've got 8.1 gas Mercs with vee drives on an 02 Cruisers boat.
