Choke problem

I have a mercrusier 7.4 1993 with carb. It has a mechanical choke and will not start unless I hold choke closed by hand. Can the bimetal spring be replaced or is there an easier fix? Thanks

the spring can be replaced and the linkage is adjusted by bending

The adjustment is loosening the 3 screws holding the black plastic cover and rotating it til the choke plate just closes in cold temps.
