Is the September Christmas flotilla on for Sunday night, September 2nd in the Roundout?

I found out -- it is happening tonight. Merry Christmas!

and what a show it was!
I got lubed up down at the Goose Roost and made it back in time to see the show...

Yeah, what a parade. We decked the rails with lights and we joined the flotilla. Great thing for the kids. Though noticed someone doing a 360 in front of Roundout Yacht Basin in a 36 footer with a Christmas tree at the bow. The tree didn't quite make it by topping over but thankfully no one overboard in the night. And those Santas leading the parade could brush up on their holiday tunes (no warning horns needed that night)! Overall a good time.

He was not alone. The PT boat did this also, and the PT boat was noisier! When he did it the boat took up what seemed like half the creek.
But I will say the PT captain was much more proficient since he spun it in a boat length. The 36 was all over the place.

The attendants did a great job as usual. There were plenty of boats, and they were all decorated brightly. Lotso colors. There were even a few brown outs. Hopefully no one's genny took a serious hit.

Hi guys, sorry I haven't reported in sooner - was busy recovering from my 17 day boating vacation. That Christmas party was fun, wasn't it? A bunch of us crazies started it 10 years ago at the Anchorage, and its really taken off. Hell, houses on SHORE were even decorated!!! I was happy to be able to use my own boat in the parade for a change, now that I have one with an inverter that can handle the lights. Even with that, I came back to the dock with 10.5 volts left in the batteries. Now I guess I need bigger alternators...

Still, it was fun to be part of the celebration! All the boats made it back without incident and with their lights on, although there were a few temporary glitches. The PT boat was a cool addition, as was Sea Tow and the NY State pontoon boat. This thing is REALLY growing!!!

I hope everybody had a safe and sound holiday...

PS - Billingsgate, we docked behind you at Rondout YB on Saturday when we stopped for gas/pumpout - we were doing a trial run in broad daylight with some of the lights going to check the inverter out...
