After a passing tropical storm we went down to check on my friends catalina 36 that has been on land for the last year.The interior had 6 inches of water loaded with dark goop.Clearly the bilge pump did not work during a series of storms.After pumping out a load of water and scrubing the floors a dark ring was left around the bottom of the cabin which is white fiberglass.We tried soap,softscrub,hull cleaner with oxalic acid,bilge cleaner,and nothing touched this dark ring.We were thinking abrasives for the next round such as tub cleaner or dupont compound.The boat has a beautiful custom wood floor so any ideas need to be kind to wood.It was hard to see such a nice interior flooded (we think a hatch leaked).
