Cleaning My Hull

My hull has quite a bit of residual film/spotting on the hull from being acid washed last fall. I always polish & wax it before the start of each season, but my pad is getting extremely dirty and is loading up. I have never had this problem, and think it is because it wasn't rinsed properly after the acid washing. Plain water doesn't work. What can I use to remove this film/spotting? I don't have a problem with using something that will strip the wax, as I will be waxing it before I put it in the water
 
If I think what you may have is like lime deposit spots or hard water spots, I used bath and tub and tile cleaner on a dark hull, and then used windex after that to get rid of the residue from the cleaner, and then wax. Let me know if it works for you.

CBG - I wound up mixing a strong solution of Ajax dishwashing soap with hot water and used a semi-stiff deck brush. It seemed to do the trick for the most part, snd I didn't get any scratches.
