Hi,
Heading over to BoatFix to order a replacement compass for my boat.
Current compass is a low-end Danforth that has been fine for 5 years. But after taking it out of storage this year, discovered that the float liquid had drained. While I haven't taken it apart yet, I'm guessing that it froze. There appear to be hairline cracks in the globe near the very bottom visible portion.
We didn't have any cold snaps this winter that were any more severe than other years.
Anyone else ever have this happen or any guesses as to why this year and not others?
