Anyone use one? Would you recommend it? I had a slip neighbor last year who liked hers, but I have not seen her to ask if it's still working well and don't remember the brand.

Seems like there are a lot of them for under $200 but they are mostly brands I never heard of.

We have water and AC where we usually dock for weekends but there's no ice supply for the cooler. And my fridge is small and would take all day to freeze one tray. So it would be useful if it worked as well as they all advertise.

I used one a couple of years ago. they actually work pretty well, they make little cup shaped ice cubes quickly. You need to carry a couple of gallons of water to keep it refilled, but it's not a bad item.

I have one that I use on my rear deck. It works great and produces ice fast. When the ice basket is full we pour the ice into a cooler with the beer or into the ice bucket and then add more water. We have a large plastic jug that fills it up. Ours cost $110 at the local BJs store and has been going fine for two years. One tip, you must keep the low water sensor clean or it will stop making ice even when there is water in the tank. It just requires a brush with a toothbrush every two months or so.

We bought the Emerson, on sale at Target for $99.99, reg 139.99.
It's great!
We make ice, harvest it into zip lock bags & into freezer in the galley.
Nice complement to the Margarita/slushy maker. Fun for kids of all ages.

Thanks all. I happened to go by Target last night and saw the Emerson, but it was not on sale. Maybe I'll wait a bit and see if they offer a deal on it. It's not hot out yet anyway.

I bought one at BJ's Club as a gift for my wife last summer - it was a Haier for $129.00. Works like a champ! We use it mostly at home, but sometimes take it with us when we go away to parties, etc.

It's a little on the noisy side when it's running, but you soon get used to it, especially at a party when the sound level is up anyway. For the price, when you figure a built-in icemaker is well over a grand, I don't think you can beat them!

I have one, worked good.
New boat has a ice maker so don't need it anymore.
Will probably get rid of the one i have.
Only issue is if you don't take the water out of it, it will get moldy, which is bad, so u have to drain it and dry it when not using it.
Also its not a freezer like my ice maker, so ice it makes will melt if not removed within a few hours.
It does melt back into the water to make more ice though, so depending on temp that day will depend on how much ice remains in the tray or melts off.

Its about 2' x 2' x 2' cube.
It is heavy.
I kept it in aft stateroom.

I have this one and it makes 38# of ice a day.
