Splashed boat today ( 98 330 Sundancer ) All went well except the AC water circulation pump runs but will not pump water. Strainer is clean and seacock is open. Does pump need primed? Boat was stored on the hard all winter.

Pump has to be primed. Disconnect the hose on the discharge side of the pump... When water starts to come out .... reattach hose...

or try Pascal's way...... ( hose to hull fitting )

have you been on plane yet? I've got enough of a scoop that I've never had to prime it - just a quick run across the bay and it's good-to-go.

it shoudln't have to be primed... PIB if you have to everytime you clean the strainer. lousy install ... that was the case in my old boat (maxum 37) the pump was under one of the midcabin berth and the seacock strainer in the ER with a high point thru the bulkhead. i relocated the pump (ignition protected) near the strainer... no more problem.

had same problem on a few of our boats...the easiest and fastest way to prime for us was using our little one gallon shop vac on the discharge through hull... worked everytime. Once it was primed for the season, all was good to go.

Thank you Robski97.Your suggestion worked and AC is now working.
