Cruising the Sac River this past weekend

Thanks for the video. Don't know how to embed them into the Post. I have trouble with pictures but I think it's similar.

The barges are amazing. It's not to bad on the Sacramento River where it's wide but one slid through while we were anchored on the top of Steamboat slough. It was a pretty narrow spot with boats on both sides. I'm glad I wasn't on the turn portion. The part that scared me was that they cruised past at 5:00AM. Looking out the port hole in the bow, the barge all lit up with lights looked like it was no more then 15 feet from the boat. Pretty scary!! I would have hated to be hit by one of those in the dark. They are good captains though.

I saw it and thought of your post... I have to admit, they're pretty big and scary in the little channel. I can't imagine them on one of the sloughs.
